This was a limited contract position which ended in 2011. I managed over 100 Field Reps to promote and sell new Sony gaming products in major Big Box retailers (Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Toys R Us). Scope: Manage operations for iconic transportation company throughout a 17 state area. Area of responsibility includes 14 Major Hubs, 130 agency locations as well as 3 Major Maintenance Facilities. Reporting structure has me responsible for 22 Direct Reports including Terminal Managers (City Managers), Maintenance Managers, Agency Sales Managers and a District Coordinator. Responsibilities included but not limited to; logistics, yield per mile, P & L, coach maintenance, hiring, discipline, training and On-Time-Performance. Recognition: • Top Performing District in Cost to Sell Improvement for 2008 and for first half of 2009. • Top Performing District in GPX Sales Increase for 2008 and first half of 2009. • District received 3rd Place Safety Award for decrease in Incidents. • Recognition for Operational Excellence in providing transportation during Republican National Convention in Minneapolis, MN. We were the only carrier used by Department of Defense. This lead to contract to provide transportation for Presidential Inauguration. Selected Key Performance Indicators: • Consistently lead company in sales increase, yield increase, ticket sales increase, and YOY increase in ticket sales, yield and sales increase percentages. • Increased sales in key accounts as measured by client (actual numbers not shared by client). • Acted as Onsite Corporate PR Rep during tragic bus collision. Met with families, hospital personnel and News Media; ensured all passengers’ needs were taken care of up to and including transportation home. • Turnaround of Chicago Maintenance Facility that was the worst performing and operationally a disaster (worst managed operation I’ve seen in my career). Inventory went from consistently losing over $300,000 per inventory to last inventory showing $3,400 shrinkage. Replaced Maintenance Manager and changed Supervisors work habits to meet company goals. • Successfully negotiated new real estate deals for some of our larger agencies. • Relocated 2 Major Facilities and Grand Opened both during ’09 Fiscal Year. Strategic Planning: • Spearheaded National Training initiative providing management with measurable KPI’s for staff and terminal. • Created and implemented emergency weather strategy for all terminals to ensure customer safety and satisfaction.
