Paramita Banerjee is an Ashoka Fellow working to facilitate initiatives designed, owned and implemented by young people from marginalised communities. Opting out of academics nearly three decades ago to work in the social development sector, she has implemented assignments for international and national organisations of repute. Paramita is an experienced and published writer and translator. She has written columns for online journals; translated and published a collection of short stories for children by the Magsaysay Award winning writer Mahasweta Devi; and has translated into English and published many poems by women poets from Bengal in reputed international and national journals. She has several of her articles published in reputed printed journals and anthologies and some are forthcoming. She also writes and publishes short stories in both English and Bengali for children and adults.
