Contest Brief

I have a problem. I would like to design a living green wall that fits on a standard UK fence panel 6ft by 6ft. It needs to have 3-4 gutter type planter boxes and be made out of a material with an integrated watering system similar to a hoselock system. I need it to fit the standard UK fence panel dimensions. The aim for this product is something that is light and cost effective, easily replacing or simply attaching to a standard weatherboard fence panel, attractive and not see through (i.e. fulfils the function of a standard fence). It should be stackable and modular, and strong enough to support the weight of the soil and plants that will be planted into the system. You could imagine replacing all of your timber fence panels with these panels and hooking them up into one great big fence garden. The use of readily available parts and standard measurements is encouraged.

I think that is exactly the point - I don't want to get a carpenter or maker I just want to go to the store and buy this off the shelf and that is what the design brief is all about. The first one has far too many planter boxes and the second just looks cheap as it is fabric.

Correct 6ft x 6ft - doesn't need to necessarily be the whole wall

People can you please read the brief. It is for a living fence concept, with plants grown in the fence panel. It is for outdoor use for growing plants.

Hi I have attached a sample of a gutter garden. I am looking to replicate the concept in a simpler and more scalable model

    Hello
Can I just clarify something? For the integrated watering system does this mean you want to 'plug' the hose into a socket and the water is evenly distributed amongst the plants?
    Thanks
    Alex
