Hello, I will need some limits for the design: 1. Sensing distance 2. Expected illuminance 3. Loudness level trigger 4. Holdup time 5. Expected/dreamed of production costs 6. Battery Lifetime (both in use, and in standby) 7. Need a low-battery indicator? 8. Sensitivity adjustments? I also propose the first milestone to be block design and general component selection with simulation to determine project go/no go. This would normally take the first couple of weeks as we discuss different possibilities and architectures. As part of my standard services, I will upgrade the prototype to the final production version after your final testing, and provide 1 upgrade during the lifetime of the product. I work as a r&d engineer in a lab, and in my spare time I freelance. I can help you with every aspect of your product. This looks like a interesting project. Here is my idea. For your project you will need an analog part and a digital part. The analog part is quite expensive and consumes a lot of power.(compared to the digital part). I propose we use an integrated SoC (system on chip) from cypress. It's a low power microcontroller with an analog frontend (amplifiers, dac, adc, etc). I believe that one SoC and a few transistors are enough for your project (3-4 $ for the logic and control). You cant get any cheaper than that. For PCB fabrication I work with Allpcb.com. They are the best I've seen in the market today. But if you want someone from EU, Eurocircuits is OK. My usual workflow is as follows: Requirements (cahier de charges) -> Rapid prototyping (breadboard, or home made pcb) -> BOM and part cost optimization -> PCB Fab -> First batch manual assembly (10-20 boards) -> mass production.
