We have implemented asterisk and we would like to allow our customers to call the IVR to do a database lookup for their account number. If its valid customer can request balance to read back through an annoucement. If the number is suspended it will divert to another IVR, if the number is not found it will divert to a different IVR.

I ever wrote similar one. It uses PHP-AGI script. So, the AGI will present the IVR, tone detection, presenting balance, process to payment gateway, and do the transfer using either agi_dial() command or set priority on dialplan. It can be used for Elastix or Trixbox. User will simply enter their card number, cvv2 code, and expired date. There will be a credit card number and expired date validation feature. What PBX System you are using? AsterisNOW, Trixbox, Elastix, or FreeSwitch? For handling the database lookup you better use PHP-AGI with self-recorded sound in .sln or .wav format for presenting the pronounciation.
