stock back testing software

The required software program is a tool to be used to back test and analyze investment strategies in US stock markets. The program will be a very easy to use application in which a person can select a stock or stocks to test along with a period of time, amount to invest and a pre defined strategy. A “start-testing button” will launch the program to go to Yahoo Finance and download historical data for the stocks. After the data has been downloaded the program will run a simulation of “buys”, and “sell” keeping track of the amount of purchases, costs and sales. The program will tabulate results and display the gains or loses over the period in both graphical and tabular form.
