We want to cut a part of video clip and save it as a separate video file using DiretShow rendering. Our utility can create successfully the compressed/uncompressed AVI file in good quality. But we have problems with the ASF which is created in low quality. We guess that problems in profile that we don't use during creating ASF. In the same time we created uncompressed AVI file, and converted it to ASF using MS SDK sample UncompAVIToWMV (with included profile support). We got final asf in good quality but this way has a few lacks: 1) It is too expansive to convert file from the compressed to uncompressed AVI format and only after that to ASF. 2) Windows Media Format Runtime should be installed on user machine to convert avi to asf 3) Asf file cannot be played on machine without installed Windows Media Format Runtime. So we need a help with the creation of ASF file of the best quality passing uncompressed format. Example of code is below // Build the graph. hr = m_pRenderEngine->SetTimelineObject(m_pTL); hr = m_pRenderEngine->ConnectFrontEnd(); ICaptureGraphBuilder2 *m_pBuilder; hr = CoCreateInstance(CLSID_CaptureGraphBuilder2, NULL, CLSCTX_INPROC, IID_ICaptureGraphBuilder2, (void **)&m_pBuilder); hr = m_pRenderEngine->GetFilterGraph(&m_pGraph); hr = m_pBuilder->SetFiltergraph(m_pGraph); // Create the file-writing section. IBaseFilter *pMux; hr = m_pBuilder->SetOutputFileName(&MEDIASUBTYPE_Asf, m_strOutputFile, &pMux, NULL); // Render video pin IPin *pOutpin; hr = m_pRenderEngine->GetGroupOutputPin(0, &pOutpin); hr = m_pBuilder->RenderStream(NULL, NULL, pOutpin, NULL, pMux); hr = m_pGraph->QueryInterface(IID_IMediaControl, (void **)&m_pControl); hr = m_pControl->Run();
