Each month, we produce thousands of 3-6 minute audio pieces for media companies such as Condé Nast, Time, Tribune and Hearst, as well as brands and advertisers such as General Mills, State Farm and Audible. Our unique audio content is distributed anywhere consumers can listen - via smart speakers, podcasting and streaming platforms, and the web. The Opportunity: We are looking for an Audio Advertising Copywriter who will bring creative innovation and expert efficiency to our growing audio ad business. This role will focus primarily on crafting effective audio ad copy in our shortest “:45 second and under” format, specifically in podcast listening environments. A successful candidate is comfortable in writing for voice, clearly demonstrating expertise in the conversational language and tone that makes for engaging and relevant audio advertising. They are also well-versed in working with client briefs and distilling key points into efficient and effective messaging that supports both the brand and the listener context. Responsibilities: - Craft best-in-class audio advertising copy in a fast-paced environment - Follow and translate client briefs and talking points into clear and effective messaging, integrating additional feedback as needed - Work with SpokenLayer and partner excellent practices to best support the brand and listener context - Demonstrate expertise in writing for voice, creating relevant, engaging, and conversational copy - Provide written voice talent direction, integrating key client information, pronunciation guides and tonal direction for each script - Effectively communicate creative choices to project managers as needed, supporting effective client communication and excellent partnership - Work with teammates to integrate new copy guidelines and best practices as the business develops Requirements: - Must include writing samples with resumé; there will be an additional, brief copy evaluation for consideration - Minimum 2 years of copywriting experience in advertising and/or social media; audio copy experience is a plus! - Highly resourceful and collaborative with the ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment - Thrives in a deadline-driven environment; proven ability to self-manage workload capabilities in a fast-paced workflow Position Notes: - Contractor, remote (Eastern Standard Hours may be required) - Full- and part-time available - Reports to: Director, Editorial & Copy - Start Date: ASAP SpokenLayer is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse workforce.
