So, if the jackpot is on a particular combination and the number of symbols on the reel is 10, the probability of someone getting a jackpot is 1 in 100000. Similarly, the probability of winning any other combination is also 1 in 100000. Using this, and the prize money offered for each combination, the average payout per spin can be calculated. Using this, the payout percentage can be calculated. We can change the payout for winning combinations and/or the number of winning combination to change the payout percentage.
