Magneto custom CSS to display Sub Categories

I am looking for a developer that knows Magento and the Ultimo theme to help finish a small design change for our Magento store. I am needing show subcategories on select categories pages. Currently I am doing this by adding a custom landing page to categories required. Each custom landing page has a link to the subcategory with image created for each button. Rather then creating png images for each category we want to 1) assign a thumbnail image to each category 2) assign a custom landing page to each category we want to display subcategories for. then have this landing page using css 1) display the button with the category name and image as per [login to view URL] (HDMI Splitters) 2) have the button change to a darker back ground when the mouse is over the button. 3) colours, button height & width etc to be control via css 4) be able to control the space between 5) css code will be added to the themes custom css file. 6) if no thumbnail image assigned to the category need to the leave a blank space or assign an icon so that the text all aligns. The current font used is Roboto Condensed Bold which is used as the base font for the Ultimo Theme and a font size of 20pt This is the type of concept that we require [login to view URL] But to display in the format showing in the attachments using the thumbnail image and not the category image. Needs to be compatible with the Ultimo Magento Theme and no core files can be changed to allow for easy upgrades to our site and ultimo theme as required.
