Database administrator (DBA)

Database administrator (DBA): Looking for a database administrator to help optimize queries across multiple large MySQL databases and to speed up the site. You will also maintain multiple large databases as our site goes live and further optimizations will be needed. You will also set up the periodic updates, backups, and periodic maintenance of the databases, collect performance metrics and drive the future development of the product so we can remove bottlenecks and expand as the number of users grows. The product is a search and analytics web service which is built on MySQL and Java. Both the front end and back end teams are A+ and we need a very experienced DBA. You will need to move quickly on this project and must be available for face to face meetings in New York City. We require references.
