$100-300 USD

I need a power supply circuit designed which is part of a microcontroller-based power supply: 1. Input: Universal, 110-220VAC 2. Output: 5V to 500V 3. Current: 10mA to 2.5A 4. Ripple: As low as reasonably (cost-wise) possible (preferably <1%) 5. Topology: Switching 6. Components and Cost: Preferably MOSFET, switching transformer and similarly easily available components. I’m open to specialized power circuitry control ICs, but the overall component cost of only the power circuit (not PCB, microcontroller etc) should be < US$ 20. 7. Area of PCB: Preferably should not occupy more than 150mm x 150m (6”x6”) PCB area. 8. PCB: Since power supply will be part of a larger circuit, the PCB could be a daughter board with input/output connectors for the main PCB (with microcontroller, keypad, LCD, LEDs, switches etc.)/ 9. Schematic Tool: Cadsoft Eagle 10. Timeframe: < 8 weeks I’m a microcontroller design engineer and will handle the design of user interface and control switching. I need only the power supply part to be designed. The power supply is to be used in science labs. The user can set the required the voltage (constant voltage CV mode) or current (constant current CC mode). The power supply should adjust the current to reach the set voltage (CV mode) or voltage to reach the set current (CC mode). The total power output from the PS doesn’t require to be more than 500W - if voltage set is 500V then current needs to go to max 1A. If current is set at 2.5A, then voltage need not go beyond 200V. I don’t know if I’ve explained this clearly and if it affects the component size or the design. Please ask if any questions. The power supply circuit will be hooked to a microcontroller (PIC 18F or 24F). The microcontroller part of the design will be handled by me. This will take care of the user interface, input from the user, voltage/current mode, timer, no-load, over-load detection. The power supply circuit needs to have a current and voltage feedback circuitry that can be read by the microcontroller’s ADC. The microcontroller will be programmed to adjust the switching for voltage/current control. I think I’ve explained the requirement clearly. If you need any clarifications, please contact me.

I can design the power supply with PI part, and the control input will be through potentiometer and the analog input. The pot sets the high value variation in this can be adjusted with analog input. Do we need isolation from the input and the system?
