Outlook/hotmail problem with listing of Inbox

Hotmail works perfectly on my Iphone when I key in "Mail". However on a MAC the Inbox messages won't appear as a list: instead I get a very long list of messages starting with Chinese and then Z, Y and so on backwards through the alphabet. Recent emails received can only be accessed via SEARCH. The fault appears whether Chrome or Safari is used, and on two different MACs as well as on my Iphone when I use Safari. Therefore the problem must be internal to Outlook/hotmail rather than related to the device used. I have tried altering my Hotmail password but to no effect. See Screenshot
