CD-ROM Database Application

This project requires the development of a database application that will be distributed on CD-ROM. The application must work with an interface developed in three languages (French, English, and German). The translations will be given to you. Once users have selected their language, they must be able to run queries, view lists of results, and click on a result title to display an individual record. Each record will consist of text and one or more images. The application must integrate an existing Microsoft Access database containing approximately 12,000 records with up to 6,000 images. Recommendations for improving the performance of the database will be appreciated. Ten to twenty screens of additional information will also be included on the CD-ROM. These screens will independent of the database app, but will be accessed through the same interface. The application can be installed on the users' machines, or run from the CD (open to recommendations). We will provide an interface prototype that will include screen designs and demonstrate functionality.
