A Visual Basic 6 module needs to be developed containing public functions to: 1) Make any initializations required. 2) Connect to a local Microsoft Exchange server (versions listed below in the 'Platforms' section) through CDO. 3) Pull various statistical information about the Information Store as a whole such as last modified time, and other information that the coder would deem to be of use. 4) Pull out an entire copy of the Information Store, and place in an arbitary local directory on the machine in a format which can be restored at a later point, either through the module or by some separate method such as the windows exchange tools. 5) Perform any cleaning up and finishing necessary. 6) A function must exist so that the backup process can be polled to pull out two statistics: Amount currently backed up and total amount to back up. The module must not freeze whilst backing up, but will be expected to use threads or a similar method so that the application may still be used whilst the backup is running and will not freeze. Any coders that bid on this project will be asked a number of questions, so please do not bid on this project unless you can complete the 5 functions as listed exactly above, as this project needs to be completed correctly and efficiently as soon as possible with no excuses or messing around. Once this project is complete, to finalize, the coder will produce a short (1 page or so) document in MS Word, documenting the functions created (what they are, how they work, etc..). After I have tested this code, the project will be completed. Once complete, this module must compile through VB6 into a .dll exposing these public functions which may be called by another application at a later point. Please let me know any questions you may have. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform All versions of Exchange from that shipped with Win NT 4 to that shipped with Win Server 2003.
