I am seeking to identify a general idea of cost for a bid I will be posting in the future for a custom telnet client. This client will need to have many features which include at minimum: - The ability to modify cosmetics such as text coloring and background coloring of display windows. - Multiple windows to which text can be directed, all windows must be resizable and movable. - Macro keys to send commands quickly. - A scripting engine that will parse a simple user language which can be used to send commands through the client as needed, based on variable parameters. - The ability to display images and play .WAV, .MID and .MP3 sound from local files. - A number of graphic and text controls which will change based on data sent by the server to the client. - The ability to change display fonts, both from client and server side. No creation of art is necessary for this project. A seperate artist will be hired, or if the person taking the bid is a skilled artist, their services may be requested in a seperate, voluntary bid for art as needed for controls and other designs in the client. This client will be used on a Windows format, but the ability to work in a Mac format is a plus, as we'd ultimately like to port the client to Mac at some point in time, based on additional cost. Bidders do not necessary need to be able to work with Mac, it is a welcome plus.
