I would suggest using QR codes for ticket "numbers" This will allow an almost infinite number of tickets to be create, without having to reuse old numbers. QR codes are easily scanned by another mobile device (or possibly a tablet device?) at the theatre, to verify the ticket information in the database. We can store as much customer information in the database as you will need, allowing you to market to them later if you desired. I would suggest using PHP and MySQL for your programming, as it is universally supported by most web hosts, so if you needed to switch hosts, or increase your hosting needs, there would be no support issues.
