Requesting an experience programmer to build, from the ground up, in C or C++ (preferably C++) a MUD based on existing design specs. This bid is the first of several phases, as the project itself is large and I would like it built in a modular fashion.
The core component of this phase for the MUD is building the skeleton of the MUD (multiple connectivity via TCP/IP, running off of a *NIX based server). Coder is responsible for acquiring a LINUX platform or using the CYGWIN free UNIX emulator for development.
Code is to be clean (no spaghetti goto code), modular, easy to read with meaningful variable names, and properly documented so any other coder can read a block of code and understand it.
Coders who do a great job will be hired again for subsequent phases of the project.
## Deliverables
I am willing to discuss with coders the scope of this phase of the project. Weekly status reports on what has been done IS required, even if it is "I'm working on XXXXX" right now.
Would prefer coders who are familiar with MUDs.
Attached is a document that has a detailed description of the game.
