We have an osCommerce based shop (CRE Loaded) that runs on a dedicated Linux-Server (Fedora FC3) (2 GB RAM, 120 GB hdd) with Apache (1.3.33), PHP (4.3.11) and mySql ( 4.1.12).
The shop has approx. 11000 products in 600 categories (18000 products->categories) and an extensive XSell table.
We are looking to engage someone to do speed optimization of the store. This could mean to:
- optimize the LAMP environment and tune it to the store's specifics
- optimize and rewrite the bottle-neck SQL statements of the store
Thank you for considering this project, and don't hesitate to ask any question you would need answered for a qualified bid.
Best,
Ted

I have an eBook which I've learned from how to optimize your database and osCommerce files to upload very fast as well as do a few changes to your server that'll blow your speed out VERY QUICKLY making it nice and speedy.
i can assure u a wide experience about optimizing web services. i will overload your server to focus action on profiling only the bootlenecks. i will operate through indexing and optimizing tables, caching static files and images on separate, dedicated webserver and moreover installing an open source PHP accelerator / optimizer / encoder.
