Dear Sir or Madam,
I am looking for a cellular/mobile phone which can do DTMF detection of incoming tones. To find out if a phone is capable of doing this you need to connect a phone with a computer using a data cable then open Windows Hyper Terminal and send some AT commands:
**AT** (Should respond "OK")
**AT+FCLASS=?** (Should respond **(0, 1, 2, 4, 8, 80)** or a different combination of these numbers.)
Here's what the numbers mean...
0 = DATA which for a phone that even answers to AT commands, should be listed as these commands ARE data.
1 = Old-Style FAX format
2 = Newer styled FAX format
4 = Synthetic FAX format using DATA translation
8 = Voice capabilities for version 2.1 or earlier (v.90 or older)
80 = VoiceMax - Experimental compression codec
I am looking for a phone which has **8** or/and **80** FCLASS which means that the phone supports Voice commands and can do DTMF detection.
It's OK if you find only one phone. The phone has to be inexpensive (less than $200 on eBay). The phone has to support dual band GSM 900/1800 (European standard) or triple band GSM 800/900/1800/1900 (American + European standard) frequencies.
Kind Regards,
Alexander
