Excel Dashboard

I want to create monthly reports for a select few customers. I suspect that the most convenient way to do this is to distribute the data via an Excel Spreadsheet, although I am open to suggestion to an alternative. My data is contained within a mysql database and I can pretty much generate any query as needed. I have seen very cool functionality here [login to view URL] which has some features I would like to replicate. ## Deliverables Some of the requirements I have are: 1. I expect to have between 10-20 customers. 2. Each customer may get a different dataset (or multiple datasets) 3. Datasets will contain monthly data per product (and possibly historical) 4. Customers should be able to compare monthly data with historical 5. Each monthly dataset will consist of several tables 6. Spreadsheets must be protected against tampering and unauthorised sharing, I need to know who is looking at reports. 7. Spreadsheets must be very easy to update with next months data. 8. I might like to have a single spreadsheet with macros etc. that only the data changes i.e. I only ship a data update every month. 9. Some customers can get multiple datasets, but it may be easier to issue them with multiple spreadsheets for this? 10. Data will be presented in tables and graphs, the data returned per supplier will be of the same format. 11. Multiple tabs can be used to avoid clutter. 12. I expect to ship at least 12 - months worth of data initially and this will grow with each monthly update. 13. I could allow secure webservice access via XML to the database for specific queries if that provides for a better and more dynamic solution. 14. The solution will keep minimal maintenance overhead as a key requirements. I would just like to run a DB query each month and send an email update of csv data. 15. The person reading the report should not need to see the base data that is shipped out every month, that should be protected where possible. Sample data for one supplier (not real data this is just how it could look) Year,Month,Supplier,Product,Product colour, weight, SaleType, ... 2010,Feb,Dell,Laptop,Black,2.2,Consumer.... 2010,Feb,Dell,Laptop,Red,2.2,Business.... 2010,Feb,Dell,Desktop,White,5.2,Government.... . . 2010,Jan,Dell,Netbook,White,0.7,Demo....etc . . etc. (Up to 10,000 entries per supplier) I should be able to compare and graph Products, Sale type etc. Other tables can be generated from base data if that is required. As I will be paying for your time (i.e. your experience) I am looking for someone who has done something similar to this before and **I WILL require a PREVIOUS SAMPLE OF YOUR WORK in this area (Non sensitive data).** Once I know how best to do this I should be able to implement it myself. Basically I am looking for you to come up with an demo/prototype that I can take and turn into a product. ** Please do not respond by saying only "I CAN DO THIS" without some idea of how you will approach the solution because I wont even bother replying, except maybe to say RTFM and remove you from bidders.**
