A form-based Word 2003 Add-In that exchanges XML messages with a local server via TCP/IP.
As well as Ping, the Add-In will be capable of issuing six XML requests to the server, each activated by a Command Button. User input, when required, will be via simple user controls (such as the calendar control and text and check boxes.)
When open, the Add-In shall continuously monitor XML messages from the server and be able to recognise and parse 5 main message types on receipt. The data contained within the message shall then be displayed in the appropriate controls on the userform. Superflous or superseded information will be discarded.
Development language must be Visual Basic .NET 2005 using Visual Studio Tools for Office.
This Add-In is a proof-of-concept for use by a VSTO developer and therefore requires only a simple user interface. Of greater importance is the quality, readibililty and reusability of the code delivered.
The XML Schema and screen shots of the required Add-In are attached.
Expert support from the Schema's author is available via the buyer. All communications are to be via RentACoder.
