I've got a 22 page website at https://quadbikeking.com.au. It is currently suffering a few problems: 1. The header and footer are inserted into each page via PHP includes. This means I have very little control over the <title> and <description> tags. I'd like to simply merge the header and footer code into each of the 22 pages so I can better control the <title> and <description> tags. 2. All the images on every page are held in the CSS. When you view the source code for each page, it doesn't display the image locations, that is held in the CSS. As a result Google doesn't find the images on the page and in the search results, if you look at the result for [login to view URL], you'll see it doesn't have a thumbnail image next to the search result. [login to view URL] This is because Google doesn't see any references to any images in the HTML. I want to fix this. I'm open to ideas, but I think the best thing to do is to remove the reference to each image being in the CSS and code them into each webpage. I think we should reference the largest image size in the HTML. The website is served through a CDN, so it will end up being optimised for mobile anyway. I do not want to move the website into a CMS like Wordpress. The site is simply PHP pages, CSS files and an image directory. There is no CMS involved and I don't want one. Hi I will create a new function in PHP like get_header() that will accep the customization like custom title, meta etc. This will keep the code neat and clean and easier for you control instead of embedding the full header on each page As for as images, yes HTML needs to be re-written and formatted with CSS in order for web pages to be read properly by Google.
