I registered with Freelancer in February this year and have 24 reviews, all positive. English is my first language and my skills include technical writing, editing and proofreading. I am used to working with UK English for my regular transcribing work. My technical writing projects have included editing a number of manuals, including training manuals: one for a security firm and one for the New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. My ongoing freelance work includes editing papers for an online journal for translators and interpreters. I recently edited a 65,000-word science fiction novel and the client was so satisfied with my work that he has commended me to Freelancer. For two years I was a copy editor for Elsevier Science Publishers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, rewriting text by authors who were not native English speakers. I have worked with individual clients to bring 12 books to publication and three of these clients have rehired me to work on a second book.
