PDF Printing project

I want to print 1,000 postcards, each addressed to the owner of a website. Each postcard includes a screenshot of their website on the front, as well as some images. And their address on the back, as well as some images. To digitally print the 1,000 postcards I need to present the them ready to print on two PDFs. Each PDF will house about 500 postcards, which I estimate to be about 1GB each. This project is to capture those website screenshots with one of the many screenshot software applications out there (example: [[login to view URL]][1]). You will then merge those screenshots into a PDF using an opensource PDF writing application. You will also need to merge in the graphics and the addresses (all provided). If you have bandwidth issues, I can provide a windows or linux VPS for the project. I will pay for any software licences, in addition to your fees for this project. ## Deliverables **Included with this brief:** 1. An illustration of what the first 2 pages of the PDF will look like 2. All the postal addresses and the URLs of the website owners 3. The front & back of the postcard in PNG format & PSD **How to layout the PDF** The printer will want to print the postcards on A3 sheets of card measuring 420mm x 320mm. Each A3 sheet will carry 6 postcard fronts, or 6 postcard backs. When the printer prints the PDF they will print one side of an A3 sheet with the first page of the PDF, then they will print the back of that A3 sheet with the second page of the PDF. And so on. You need to configure the PDF writer to lay out the postcards in sequence, so you print 6 fronts followed by the matching 6 backs. The first 6 fronts (on page 1 of the PDF) need to be followed by the corresponding 6 backs. The images I have provided are 300 dpi. You need to capture the screenshots in as high a resolution as possible. I would prefer you don't use desktop screenshot software, because it will capture the browser window and not just the website screenshot. **Possible issues:** If you are unable to capture a screenshot from a website, because it is unavailable or times out, skip it. I am going to provide you with more than 1000 names, so you can look for other targets. If you are unhappy with the print quality of the free screenshot software, or PDF writers out there, talk to me about this and we can work together to find a solution. For example, we use commercial PDF writers within the organization and maybe we can use these. Or, in the case of getting better screenshot software, I will pay for it. If you are unable to easily send me the PDFs, once complete, I will provide you a FTP location to send it to. **APPENDIX** **Example PDF** You will see a file example_PDF.jpeg. This shows an example of how the first two pages of the PDF might look.**NOTE**: I have used the same company over ("Z Web World" at<[login to view URL]>) and over again. When you do this task, each of those postcards will be different. I have also produced a very low resolution image. You need to use images at 300 DPI. **Image files** [login to view URL] [login to view URL] These files are the two images that make up the front and back of the postcard. You'll notice the [login to view URL] file is transparent. You lay it over the screenshot. The [login to view URL] needs the postal address printed over the top. I have also uploaded two PSDs should you wish to work with these. One is suitable for the front of the postcard and one the back.
