Hello! I have a very simple problem. I have a button that sets a recordset based on a query. For example: rs = [login to view URL]("qryName") This query has a WHERE clause where I need to specify that the records are from a certain year. This year value is pulled from a control on the form the button is located on. For example: WHERE (Year([login to view URL]))=Year([Main]![NavigationSubform]![txtYear]))) However, I get a run-time error because, to the best of my knowledge you cannot use a control in query that a recordset call is used in. I need help making it so my Query can access the value stored in this control.

Yes, we can't use control referenced query on .OpenRecordset because it can't evaluate the value from the control. The only option is create the SQL and open it on live or update query with the real value of the control and call the query by .OpenRecordset.
