I basically works for a System integrator. have done lot of implementations on Veeam Backup & replication and other products. Below is the brief discription on how we can deploy the solution.
step 1 - Go through the proposed solution architecture & scope of work if it is defined already . Or else understand the customer infra and requirement, Accordingly propose the solution design (like backup server sizing & topology)
Step2- Basic installation of the veeam software on the physical server or virtual machine depends on the step1.
Step3 - configure the procured licenses and configure the backup infrastructure.
Step 4- Configuration of proxy VMs for backup load balancing (if veeam installation is on VM) for proxy mode backups. If it is physical server we can configure backups in SAN mode (faster backups is possible) based on the existing infra.
Step5 - Adding VMware/Hyper-v/physical servers to the veeam console. & adding the backup repository to the veeam as a backup target.
Step6 - Configure the backup jobs and schedules as per the best practices (like application aware, deduplication enable, any scripts attaching etc.,)
Step7- Configure veeam data labs like sure backup etc.,
Step8- Configure veeam backup copy jobs if required to maintain secondary backup copy in 2nd location.
Step9- configure veeam cloud connect in case to secondary copy to any public clouds.
Step10- Veeam replication configuration in case DR is needed
step11- Data restoration tests at all levels.
