Correct slow writing to disk

This sample application (attached) writes random data to the file. It uses standard writing mechanism via StreamWriter which gives very slow speed (in comparison to Windows system write apis). Is there any way to improve writing speed of this code? I think this may be done via ThreadPool, to separate writing threads?
