Vision : King Surplus seeks to build a fully functioning eCommerce capability under the [login to view URL] domain. We are exploring options and first want to understand the feasibility of satisfying business requirements by leveraging established company infrastructure to the best extent possible. Guiding Principles : Leverage existing investment in Lotus Notes knowledge & infrastructure, and apply this to an E-Commerce platform. Mission Critical Business Requirements : The ability to offer full check-out capability with a shopping cart built on best in class industry standards that would accept PayPal, eCheck, and major credit cards The ability to accept Sales Offers on select items with a workflow solution that would allow seller to accept and/or counter offer and proceed to checkout upon agreement between buyer & seller Full integration between Lotus Notes and the eCommerce site for SKU setup & download of sales transaction data The ability to efficiently manage sister sites ( If Need Be ) Value Adding Business Requirements : eBay extensibility - IE , If an Item is sold on King Surplus, It will remove the item from Ebay and vice versa. SKU setup Download of sales transaction data from one or the other Reciprocal item removal when item is sold either on eBay or [login to view URL] Automated setup of Lotus Notes customer record The ability to support a public auction marketplace Communication is a must, not only in terms of development but as well in the design.
