After that, I check for grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors. The proofreading will be done by reading the work three to four times. First time I will be reading each sentence separately looking for common punctuation mistakes. Second reading is the process or reading aloud. In this way I can hear errors and misleading words that you otherwise miss while reading silently. The third time I will proofread the entire paper from the end to the beginning (reading backwards) thus I can see more spelling errors when reading out of context. If I doubt the success of my previous proofread – I perform one last normal proofreading from the beginning to the end.
