I am contacting you on Behalf of Footsteps. We have gathered a group of leaders from diverse backgrounds and created a non-profit organization with the mission of spreading awareness of world development issues to these leaders. Student leaders from very diverse backgrounds have come together to create F.O.O.T.S.T.E.P.S, a student-run nonprofit organization working with the United Nation on educating students about issues in the developing world, and giving them avenues to make an individual difference. This includes, but is not limited to, educational programs, internship opportunities, scholarship opportunities, and at the very least, an eye-opening experience toward the issues at hand today. In every field that our youth may pursue in the future, philanthropy is necessary as a building block in every day life. Philanthropy takes one's passion and applies it to make social change. In 2001, the United Nations vowed to end poverty by 2015. Unbelievably enough, this is possible. To make this project sustainable and successful, we need the support of the community to make an investment in the next generation. In addition to helping spread awareness of these issues and what our organization is doing to make an international difference, we hope you will make this investment toward a project that will reach out directly to students nationwide. Education is our responsibility, and educating is our duty. What we are looking for is potentially something with flash, a dynamic page with easily updatable events and information, potentially a login system for some of our university chapters, but most importantly serve a referenceable site with a creative approach and spin to educating students about our cause.
