Overall Project:
Upgrade and customize the software for a medium-sized, community website. This includes the cms, some modules, and the theme. I have a very web host, the site is on a new server, and you should have everything you need to do the work.
Specifics:
1) Upgrade to latest stable Postnuke release: From .75 to .764
Issues: This is straightforward. But it needs to be done.
2) Upgrade pn_phpbb14 forum to pnforum: From 1.7.5 to 2.7
Issues: These versions are quite distant but it is the same basic forum, adapted by the same programmer. I've upgraded before by doing a couple successive upgrades. There about 100,000 posts that need to be migrated.
3) Some module upgrades
Issues: There are 1 or 2 modules that may require customization due to php upgrades on the current server. The others are probably replaceable.
4) Theme customization
Issues: The current design is simple and looks fine. The problem is that it uses tables and relies on apache rewrite to produce search-engine friendly urls. I'd like a functioning alternative: simple, same rough color scheme. I'm fairly certain the new forums will not work properly with the existing theme.
