I need a script or an application that can do the following.
Search a folder and all of its subfolders for msi's that contain the string "symantec" in the registry table.
Return the paths of these msi's and write them to a file called [login to view URL]
Also return the productname and productversion and write them to? the file? called [login to view URL]
Search the same folder and all of its subfolders for msi's that contain the string "c:\data" in the registry or C:\data in the directory table.
Return the paths of these msi's and write them to a file called [login to view URL] ? ?
Also return the productname and productversion and write them to the file? called? [login to view URL] ?
Please note that these msi's don't have the property rootdrive set to C:
On every pc the targetdir wil become C: because this is the drive that has most space.? ? You don't have to take in consideration that this wil become D:\data or E:\data.
I also need you to look for C:\data in the ini file table. and in the files that are part of the msi but are uncompressed external files.
As an additional requirement,? I need you to write the result when you found the string in the ini-table or registry table to the log file.
Something like " Reference to "C\data" was found in the ini table.
I would like it to look like this
*Productname & ProductVersion
Path to the msi
Eg. "Reference to C:\data was found in the ini table"
or "Reference to C:\data was found in the file" & filepath.
Is that something you could arrange.
Can you also arrange that you also search for the literal string c:\data in those places (except for the directory table of course)

It has to work on an msi I have added as an attachement.
