Hi Inderjit, I'm back. I did a test shrink of the front and back of the medallion to see if I can also use it as a coin. (2" vs. 6-8") The front works perfectly at either size. The back becomes unreadable when small. So I redesigned the back to work even at 2 inches wide. I'd enjoy working with you again, so if you're available, I'll send you my cut and paste template and the new, single-head thistle, which will work better at either size. The raised-dot border would remain the same, as will the front, simplifying matters a bit.
